About Dr MeiLuk by &M Dental Clinic

Dr Athena Tan, Root Canal Specialist in Petaling Jaya (PJ), graduated from one of the best private universities, International Medical University (IMU), in 2017. She served her compulsory government service the same year and joined a private practice as a dental associate the year after. Having been offered a position at one of the prestigious universities in Singapore (NUS), she chose instead to pursue her Master's degree, Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Endodontology), a specialist qualification in root canal treatment, from the National University of Malaysia (UKM).

She is currently a Lecturer at International Medical University (IMU) and top endodontist at L&M Dental Clinic PJ and Dr MeiLuk Dental Clinic, which are located in Petaling Jaya, Ara Damansara and Subang Jaya. She has been an active member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 2020. Dr Tan has won a few awards during her career, including Best Poster Award at the Penn Endodontic Global Symposium by MIES 2023 and at the Malaysia Endodontic Society Annual Scientific Meeting 2024.

She is passionate about research and development and has published in various journals in the field of endodontics. During her free time, she enjoys swimming and watching movies.

Dr Nicholas Soh, our best implant specialist at Dr MeiLuk Dental Clinic PJ, received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in June 2010. He then obtained a Master in Dental Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a specialist qualification in wisdom tooth surgeries and dental implants. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (FFDRCSI) in the field of oral surgery with oral medicine, conferred in December 2014. During his undergraduate course, he was awarded Overall Top Student Gold Medalist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Gold Medalist in Prosthodontics, Oral Medicine, General Surgery, Dental Materials, Microbiology, Pharmacology, General Medicine, Periodontics and Radiology.

As one of the top implant specialists at L&M Dental Clinic PJ (Petaling Jaya), he has presented papers at the National Basic Science Conference for Undergraduates and published in various reputable journals related to oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 2006, Dr Nicholas Soh was awarded Best Paper for his research entitled "Microbial Ecology of the Root Canal System." He also placed first at the National Basic Science Conference Quiz Programme (2006 and 2007), the Quiz Programme for Dental Interns at Sathyabama University (2010), the Tamil Nadu Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons State Conference (2013) and the Pahang Research Day (2018), and placed second at the East Coast MAOMS Conference (2020). He is currently a member of the International Society for Internal Fixation (AOCMF). He practiced at Hospital Selayang as a Clinical Specialist in Oral Surgery from 2015 to 2017, and continues to practice at Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Afzan as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is proficient in all core procedures in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including wisdom tooth surgery and dental implantology.
